Put together this new video of a short trip last year covering Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, and Tokyo, inspired by JetStar Japan's recent announcement of up to 18 new flights between Manila and Japan.
Some of the sights featured in the video include: Tokyo Skytree, Osaka Aquarium, Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto, Shin-Kobe Ropeway, Umeda Sky Building and Shinsaibashi Shopping Street in Osaka, Nara Park (where you can feed the deer), and Tsukiji Fish Market and Ginza in Tokyo.
JetStar Japan is going to operate up to seven direct flights a week from Manila to Narita Airport in Tokyo and Chubu Airport in Nagoya starting March 15 and April 1, respectively. Four flights a week between Osaka and Manila start on April 7, to go alongside Jetstar Asia’s existing flights between the two cities.
Two things worth noting for me: they have an extensive network of domestic flights in Japan, which should make transit easier, and they have a lowest fare guarantee: their website states that "if you find a published internet airfare from another airline that is lower than the lowest available comparable Jetstar fare on Jetstar.com, on the same route for a comparable time, we will beat that fare by 10%." Very cool.
Regular fares from Manila to Narita or Nagoya will start from P4,448, while flights to Osaka will start from P4,248. However, according to ads I'm seeing on Facebook lately, they'll be offering slightly lower fares of P4,048 and P3,848 for until the end of the month. Go over to their site and try booking if you like and let me know how it goes. :) As for me, I should be planning a major photo trip to Hokkaido soon!
